2026 Legal Fees

Our firm has elected to make our fees predictable and as easy to understand as possible. We hate hourly fees and imagine you do as well. As a result, unless otherwise agreed to in advance, we only use flat fee billing and general retainers.

Attorney Calls and Consultations

As a law firm, much of our value comes in the legal advice and strategy we provide our clients, and our goal is to keep the lines of communication open as much as possible. As such, we have adopted a predominantly flat fee and value based billing model. As such, we do not chargecurrent law firm clients or monthly members for communications via our client portal or for client calls. All other communications are billed as follows:

  • Initial Strategy Consultations for Business/Trademark related matters (new clients only) - $150 (30 min) or $250 (60 min)

  • Initial Strategy Consultation (repeat client) - Free

  • 15 Minute Attorney Calls - $150

  • 30 Minute Attorney Calls - $275

  • 1 Hour Attorney Calls - $500

Trademark Fees

Comprehensive Trademark Search - $800/search (includes search report and legal opinion)

Review and opinion of search report provided by client - $299/report

Prepare and File Trademark Application - $1,500 + filing fees

Consultation and Advice regarding Specimens for Statement of Use - $250-500 per class

Draft and file Statement of Use or Amendment to Allege Use - $650 per class (includes government filing fees)

Draft and File an Extension of Time to file a Statement of Use - $500 (includes government filing fees)

Knockout Searches are billed at a rate of $350/search

Simple Office Action Responses - $500-$1,000 depending on number of issues

Review and Legal Analysis of Complex Office Action - $500-$1,000

Office Action Extension of Time - $500 (includes government filing fees)

Complex Office Action Responses - $1,000-$5,000

Review Notice of Publication - $250/trademark

Change of Address Filing - $125/trademark

Drafting and Recording Trademark Assignment Document - $800 (includes government filing fees)

Trademark Cease and Desist Letters

  • Drafting - $1,500-$3,000

  • Review of Cease and Desist Letter - $500-$1,000 (depending on number of pages - includes email report and recommendations)

  • Draft a response to a Cease and Desist Letter - $750-$3,000

  • Quoted fees do not include ongoing negotiations or correspondence with third party, or client revisions. These services will be billed at our prevailing hourly rates.

Settlement Negotiations

  • Coexistence, Licensing, or Purchase Agreement - $2,500-$5,000

  • Other negotiations are billed at the prevailing hourly rate

Petition to Make Special - $750

*Unless otherwise noted, fees quoted do not include USPTO filing fees, which are subject to change and vary according to the filing submitted

USPTO Trademark Monitoring - Recurring Annual Retainer $500

​Upon receiving a notice of allowance or trademark registration, we will continue to serve as your Attorney of Record at the USPTO, providing:

  • Ongoing monitoring of the USPTO database for potential trademark infringement

  • Free pre-scheduled attorney calls for questions related to your trademark (Valued at $150-$500/call)

  • Deadline tracking for required maintenance filings to insure you will never miss a deadline and allowing your trademark to get cancelled

  • Preparation & filing of maintenance documents (Normally $350/filing)

​If you filed an Intent-to-Use (ITU) application, a Statement of Use must be submitted within 36 months of receiving a Notice of Allowance. Our firm will:​

  • Track your deadlines and file up to 6 extensions on your behalf (USPTO fees are billed separately, extensions are typically billed at $500/filing)

  • Provide advice and guidance on the use of your trademark, and assist you in preparing the proper evidence to submit to the USPTO (Valued at $600-$850/class)

  • Prepare and file a Statement of Use for the reduced fee of $450/class (including filing fees) once you begin using your trademark in commerce (Normal fees are $650/class, inclusive of filing fees)

Cancellation/Oppositions (TTAB Proceedings)

Petition for Cancellation/Opposition - $2,500 + filing fees

Answer to Cancellation/Opposition - $1,500

Mandatory Discovery Conference - $1,500

Additional fees for TTAB proceedings can be provided upon request

Contracts and Documents

Contract reviews are billed at a rate of $100/page with a $1,000 minimum fee

Custom Contract drafting - $2,500-$5,000 per contract

Mergers and Acquisitions

Letter of Intent - $5,000

Asset Purchase Agreement - $5,000-$10,000 (Does not include negotiations or revisions)

Depending on the specifics of the deal, a detailed quote will be provided when you engage our firm for legal services.

Prices are subject to change. The foregoing list is not all-inclusive of the services offered by the Firm. If you need assistance with something that is not listed above, please reach out for a more detailed price quote.

Although we despise hourly billing, for isolated projects where a flat fee is not appropriate, our prevailing hourly rates are $250-$750/hour. Also, for projects or work not listed above, we will bill by the hour.
