Register Your Brand in the United States
If your business is located somewhere other than the United States, and you are interested in doing business in the US, then chances are you will need to register your brand in the States as well. Assuming you have already registered your trademark in your home country, then registering your mark in the United States has some added benefits to you.
Have you considered creating your brand footprint in the United States?
The United States is the world’s largest economy by far. As such, if you are looking to expand your brand from Europe, Australia, Canada, or even South America, then building a presence in the United States is a prudent business decision.
Why the United States?
If you have a current trademark registration in a country other than the United States, then you can file a trademark application with the USPTO under Section 44(e). The main benefit to using this filing basis is that, unlike typical trademark applications, the holder of the foreign trademark need to demonstrate use of the trademark in commerce in the United States prior to receiving their registration. In other words, as the owner of a foreign trademark, you will not need to file a Statement of Use or Amendment to Allege Use during the application process.
Madrid Protocol Applications
As a foreign trademark owner, unless you reside in the United States, you must use a US licensed attorney to file your trademark application. As such, we work with individuals, businesses, and law firms from around the world to assist in protecting their branding rights in the United States.
Who we work with
International Trademark Services
If you are planning to expand your business into the United States, it is imperative that you protect your intellectual property rights and trademarks. Although it may seem easy to start a website or social media profile targeting US consumers online, it is just as easy for anyone steal and copy your ideas and use them as your own. If (or when) this happens, without a trademark registration you will have no way to protect your brand or seek legal recourse.
As such, we can help with the following international trademark services:
International trademark filing and registration
Madrid Protocol applications
Cease and desist letters
Dispute resolution for international trademarks
Licensing agreements
Trademark monitoring, management and renewals
